Can I wear the Sahara II as a casual jacket, or does it look like heated gear?

It looks like a sharp, modern softshell , the heating technology is completely hidden. The button controller blends in with the jacket design, and the battery pocket is internal. Most people won't know it's heated unless you tell them.

How warm does it actually get, and can I control the temperature?

Three settings let you dial in the right amount of warmth: Low (113°F), Medium (131°F), and High (140°F). On high you'll feel real, noticeable warmth across your chest and back within a few minutes. On low, it's a subtle background heat that extends battery life up to 10 hours.
